Analysts to Discuss New Research on Security in the Connected Home, Predictive Intelligent Systems, and the Digital Health Market

Parks Associates announced today that industry analysts will speak at key IoT events this week about innovation, privacy and security issues, and best market strategies. The events include the Internet of Things World, Future Connected Cars, and the American Telemedicine Association’s annual conference (ATA).

Parks Associates research shows nearly 20% of U.S. broadband households own a smart home device (smart thermostats, networked cameras, smart video doorbells, smart door locks, smart lighting devices, or smart home central controllers). Over 40% of U.S. broadband households plan to buy a smart home device in 2016, and by 2025, 66% of U.S. broadband households will have a smart home product.

Barbara Kraus, Director of Research, Parks Associates, will moderate the panel "Providing Security in the Home" at Internet of Things World, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in California, on Wednesday, May 11, at 4:50 p.m. This session will examine opportunities for consumers to monitor and maintain security remotely and how to integrate safety and security. 61% of U.S. car owners prefer to bundle vehicle data consumption with smartphone data consumption.
48% of U.S. car owners are concerned about unauthorized access or sharing of location data via connected car solutions and 45% are worried about the unauthorized sharing of vehicle performance or personal driving data.
