Smart thermostats will reach 13% adoption in North America and 1.5% in Western Europe by end of 2017

Parks Associates research analyst will share firm’s new smart home research at IoT World Europe

New Parks Associates research shows that penetration of smart thermostats will reach 13% adoption in North America and 1.5% in Western Europe by the end of 2017. Research Analyst Brad Russell will share the firm’s new smart home and IoT research this week at Internet of Things World Europe and examine the keys to continued use of smart home products and services.

“Interoperability initiatives at the application layer are moving the industry toward broader compatibility,” Russell said. “As the breadth of smart products entering the home continues to expand, interoperability initiatives aim to bridge the gap between the connected kitchen, connected entertainment systems, connected energy management solutions, and what we think about today as the smart home.”

Russell will lead a pair of sessions on the final day of IoT World Europe and examine ways to drive consumer adoption, including the importance of enhanced interoperability and smart home systems.
